4월이면 생각나는 음악1

달이 바뀔 때마다 어떤 음악이 떠오르지는 않지만, 특정 달에는 유난히 그와 관련된 음악이 생각나기도 한다. 4월이면 가장 먼저 떠오른 곡이 바로 Prince의 <Sometimes It Snows In April>이다. 80년대 최고의 싱어송라이터였으며 기타 드럼 베이스 등을 포함하여 다양한 악기를 능수능란하게 연주했던 천재였으며 무대 위에서는 배우 뺨치는 카리스마를 내뿜던 만능엔터테인너 프린스가 스스로 감독, 주연한 영화 <Under the Cherry Moon>의 사운드트랙으로 발표한 앨범 <Parade>에 수록된 곡이다.

뮤지컬 영화인 <Under the Cherry Moon>은 양아치인 크리스토퍼 트레이시가 진정한 사랑을 찾아가는 내용이기에 이 곡 <Sometimes It Snows In April>과는 내용 뿐 아니라 분위기도 전혀 다르지만, 이 곡에는 간혹 4월에 눈이 내리게 되면 더더욱 가슴 속에 파고드는 쓸쓸함이 묻어있다.

트레이시는 죽음따윈 두렵지 않다고 했어
그리고는 나를 어이없게 하는 의연한 죽음을 맞이했어
그의 사진을 보면서 나는 어느 누구도
트레이시처럼 울지 못하리라는 걸 깨달았지
